The Hotel is under the personal ownership of Lynn and Russell who live on site and who wish to offer you an enjoyable stay.

The Woodlands Hotel is only 250 yards from the Shops and the sea. There are many exciting things to do and see only a short walk away. The folk festival arena is only 200 yards up the road. So near to everything yet quiet! We have ample free car parking.

The Woodlands Hotel, Sidmouth was once an ancient manor house, one of the oldest in Devon. Later the house became the seaside residence of Regency aristocrats; royalty, including the Prince Regent relaxed here in Sidmouth. Still local family owned, generations have found pleasure and enjoyable relaxation in the gracious surroundings that are the Woodlands greatest charm.

The hotel has single, double, twin and family rooms, all en-suite and well-presented. There are rooms overlooking the garden, with French doors onto the patio and others with seating areas or balconies.

We now have a bedroom with an antique 4 poster bed for that special occasion or wedding. The room has many original features along with a high domed ceiling and luxury bathroom. All the furniture is antique and in keeping with the hotel.

Dine where His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales (later to become King George IV) was entertained under the barrel ceiling and the crystal chandelier. The Regency charm is enhanced by our acclaimed West country cuisine using only fresh produce from local market gardens and farms; including the famous Devonshire clotted cream.

Our Sun Room now has a baby grand piano and dance floor for that special occasion. Refurnished to create that special atmosphere. This room can be used for a variety of functions.

The Woodlands Hotel also has a beautiful garden bounded by fine trees, a gently babbling stream with ponds and fountains.
