The Republic of Austria in central Europe is comprised of nine federal states (Bundesländer) sub-divided into sixty districts and
municipalities. In the north Austria is bordered by the Czech Republic and Germany, to the east lie Hungary and Slovakia, Italy and Slovenia
are to the south, and Liechtenstein and Switzerland border the country to the west. Its location in the Alps makes it an ideal destination
for ski-ing and winter sports holidays.
